I finished my work early last night so I decided I could watch another movie. Submarine which stars Craig Roberts and Yasmin Paige is a delightful UK film about the trials and tribulations of growing up in Wales, family, love, and life. It was definitely a feel good movie…In that dry, UK sorta way. I really enjoyed it. (Plus, the soundtrack is dreamy.)

For those of you who use your shirt to clean your glasses, maybe try one with actual microfiber strips? As a half optician, I always scold people when I see them using their shirts to wipe glasses. Did you know when you do that you actually run the risk of ruining your AR coating? And scratching your lenses? Most fibers are actually pretty abrasive. Yes! Microfiber or AR cloth = happy lenses. You may think it’s harmless but it’s not! In any case, this made me laugh. :) Thank you Swiss Miss for pointing this out.

I admit, upon first look, I was pretty sure I was going to firmly pass on The SoloIst collection that Oliver Peoples did for Takahiromiyashita. That is, until I saw the rest of the beauties in the collection. Look at that beautiful sycamore, one of my favorite colors for glasses. I love that it’s done with some deadstock material as well. Oliver Peoples has a knack for putting a special touch on everything. And aren’t the clip ons cutie patootie?

I don’t know what worries me more, the fact that I already have like 80% of the pieces in this photo plus the glasses or that JCrew is stepping it up (and my bank account is screaming), including some Comme des Garcon pieces.
