Sketching and exploring and trying something non geometric. (I know it’s redundant to have the word “melt” and the letters melt as well. Sue me!) Considering bringing it into Illustrator later.

My past few days in a nutshell. Good eats and good times with Drew, vinyl, wine, sketching, idea brainstorming, and minimalistic design. The life!

Now that my house is virtually plantless, I was thinking about starting a mini cactus garden. I really want individual planters, however, so I can label them with type letters. (I already have a spelling in mind.) I’m also working with my landlord on possibly making a terrarium filled with actual little dudes! (Like frogs, lizards, etc.) Excited.

Working all morning to reformat portfolio to fit my iPad. Actually really excited about this. Revising the ways in which I present pieces. Pictured are posters, working on how to present logos, websites, and books next.

Change your language. Instead of saying “I don’t have time” try saying “it’s not a priority,” and see how that feels. Often, that’s a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just don’t want to. But other things are harder. Try it: “I’m not going to edit your résumé, sweetie, because it’s not a priority.” “I don’t go to the doctor because my health is not a priority.” If these phrases don’t sit well, that’s the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don’t like how we’re spending an hour, we can choose differently. Loved this. From an article called “Are You As Busy As You Think?”

I have not drawn in so long. I really miss it. This is an unfinished doodle but I’m happy so far with the outcome. Was really inspired by a photo series by Lee Jefferies on The Guardian. I want to get charcoal pencils so I can really make some contrast/drama/smudgesmudge!
